Swipe with Alcohol

When it’s time to remove, simply swipe 1-2 alcohol prep pads (included with select packs) over the bandage surface for 3-10 seconds. The alcohol deactivates the adhesive bond.

OGS (Oligomeric Switch) Technology

Comfort Release® bandages use a revolutionary adhesive system that combines two components:

1. Medical-Grade Acrylic Adhesive — Provides the strong, reliable adhesion that healthcare professionals demand. This is the same class of adhesive used in hospital-grade tapes and wound dressings.
2. Oligomeric Switch (OGS) — A biodegradable resin that acts as a molecular “switch.” Under normal conditions, the OGS reinforces the acrylic adhesive, creating a strong bond. When exposed to isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), the OGS dissolves, breaking the adhesive bond completely.

Why Alcohol?

Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) is:

• Universally available in any pharmacy, first aid kit, or healthcare setting
• Safe for skin contact (it’s already used to clean wounds and prep injection sites)
• Fast-acting — the adhesive release happens in just 3-10 seconds
• Inexpensive and easy to use (alcohol prep pads are included with select Comfort Release® packs)

The Key Difference: Adhesion Without Trauma

Traditional bandages create a mechanical bond with skin. Removing them requires mechanical force — pulling, peeling, ripping — which damages skin cells, pulls hair, and causes pain. This is especially dangerous for:

• Elderly skin (which loses collagen and becomes paper-thin)
• Skin compromised by blood thinners (which bruises at the slightest trauma)
• Chemotherapy-damaged skin (which has reduced healing capacity)
• Children’s sensitive skin (which is still developing)

Comfort Release® eliminates mechanical force entirely. The chemical dissolution of the OGS means zero force is applied to the skin during removal.
